History of Steel Building Supply

Steel Building Supply was founded in 1985 by Jay Teske and his son, J R Teske, with a vision to become one of the premier quality steel building and component suppliers in the industry. From the beginning, SBSI’s focus was components, design and production of durable metal Mini Storage buildings. As the years progressed, integrating machinery with domestic steel was a perfect marriage to take us into the new millennium. We currently manufacture roof and wall panels, cees and zees, all types of trim, prefabricated metal buildings and self-storage systems. Today, SBSI has grown to become one of the premier manufacturers in commercial, industrial, agricultural, and residential steel buildings, and also leads the market in component sales today.

Over the years our service and products have continued to improve. We sincerely appreciate the support and loyalty our customers have shown to us since we opened back in 1985. SBSI has been designing and manufacturing steel buildings to meet the demand for a wide variety of uses and required performance standards. We have developed meaningful and beneficial relationships with a large number of architects and general contractors. In order to provide our customers with seamless project continuity, we have developed one of the industry’s most qualified and experienced steel construction service departments. We strive to embody excellence prior to, during, and after the sale. With continued success and focus on long-term growth, SBSI now has expanded our coverage area from East Texas to include Louisiana, Oklahoma, and beyond. Our corporate office in Center, Texas, has a dedicated team to serve customers with an ongoing need for steel buildings and components situated over a broad geography.
